More about The Neighborhood Center’s thrift store conversion: The thrift store’s former location, behind the main agency building at 434 S. Woodland Blvd., is being converted to a 20-bed “bridge housing” (transitional housing) facility. It’s scheduled to open in fall 2017. The new beds will offer residential shelter for adults and families who need a safe place to stay while issues that forced them into homelessness are resolved. The addition of the 20 beds will make The Neighborhood Center the largest nonprofit housing agency in Volusia County, Florida.
